Requested documents for minor

If you want to study in France being a minor (i.e. up to 17 and 9 months years old the day of your entry in France), you have to provide all the following documents.

BE AWARE THAT THE PROCESSING TIME MAY BE OF TWO MONTHS

Personal appearance is required.

You will need to provide :

  • Original passport or travel document (+ ONE COPY of the identity pages). Your passport must have been issued less than 10 years ago, be valid for at least three months after your return to the US and have at least 2 blank visas pages left.

  • for those staying less than 90 days : 2 short stay application forms

The application forms have to be signed and legibly filled out. Please print in black. Indicate your phone numbers, e-mail address and the exact dates of entry and exit.

THE ORIGINAL AND 2 COPIES OF THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS :

Please note that this visa section does not make any copy. Incomplete files will not be accepted. The applicant will keep the original of the documents and travel with the complete file.

  • For non US citizens, the proof of the status in the USA (alien residency card, or valid US visa and valid I-20) ;
  • A letter of admission ( pre-enrolment ) from the school where the applicant plans to study in France ;
  • Financial evidence : paperwork documenting the financial resources of the sponsor in France such as any proof of personal income (the 3 last pay slips, letter of employment, bank statements …) along with a letter from school stating that room, board, and tuition are fully prepaid . The host can provide the student with a letter certifying that lodging will be free of charge, along with a copy of his/her pictured I.D.
  • A notarized parental authorization, signed by both parents indicating the name and occupation of the person appointed as guardian of the minor for the duration of the stay.
  • A letter of« Engagement de prise en charge » filled out by an educational organization in France, or the host family in France along with a copy of his/her residency card if the host is an alien.
  • The previous school report or equivalent diploma of the baccalaureat.
  • A vaccination certificate (diphtheria, tetanus, poliomyelitis).
  • A medical insurance valid in France (letter from the insurance company).
  • A civil insurance (letter from the insurance company).

IT IS MANDATORY TO HAVE AN APPOINTMENT ON LINE TO GET A VISA. NO APPOINTMENT WILL BE GIVEN BY PHONE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

Processing fees: by credit card (Visa, Mastercard) cash or money-order only. Personal checks or American Express are not accepted.
